Careers at 4C Air
Chemist
Sunnyvale, California
Responsibilities & Duties
- Research and analyze various nanofibers produced using spectroscopic and microscopic means.
- Develop and produce polymer solutions for the testing of nanofiber films.
- Vary the composition and/or morphology of final-product nanofiber films via user-defined variables (i.e. heat, voltage, air-flow, additives, etc.).
- Conduct the quality control on the experimental line, pilot line, and commercial line of nanofiber production lines.
- Maintain major characterization as well as production equipment, including characterization equipment; monitoring and upgrading production equipment; troubleshooting and debugging on all the equipment through standard resources, colleagues, as well as third party engineers.
- Summarize all relevant data in reports for managers.
- Follow standard safety procedures to ensure laboratory safety
Qualification & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a highly related major required
- Solid working knowledge of analytical method development and validation
- Committed to safety and compliance with lab procedures/guidelines
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases
Mechanical Engineer
Sunnyvale, California
Responsibilities & Duties
- Research, design, and evaluate the mechanical equipment or components, such as polymer pumping systems for the nanofiber production line. Scale up from experimental production line to commercial production line.
- Develop and read the technical drawings and schematics for nanofiber production lines. Cooperate with scientists to determine the best production method (via CAD drawings). Generate and interpret reports from either collaborators or in-house to determine the best approach for various production-related components.
- Be responsible for any equipment failures or will assist in the debugging/remediation of equipment failures (based on mechanical problems). The production line equipment diagnosis is based on concept (CAD), analysis (simulations/calculations), and installation of necessary modifications.
- Use computer-aided drawing software (CAD) to both design and fabricate prototype models (CNC routing, 3D printing) for experimental pilot lines to make sure the scale up of such fabricated models will be doable through other vendors or doable in-house using standard manufacturing equipment.
- Lead the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of all nanofiber production lines in the company.
Qualification & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
- Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software and drafting procedures
- Excellent prioritization and project development skills
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases
