4C Air Innovation in the Dental PPE Market

Dental healthcare professionals utilize many of the same PPE that you’d find in hospitals and other healthcare clinics such as face masks, scrubs, etc.

For this reason, DHCP are limited to using existing PPE technology; That is until 4C Air introduced it’s next-generation face masks during an educational lecture at OSAP which is dentistry’s global resource for infection control, safety information, and education.

The lecture focused on current issues with existing face mask filtration technology and how BreSafe™ nanomaterial can solve these problems.

Sample slide from “The Science of Small…”

DHCP are required to wear masks for long periods of time and during the pandemic, were required to wear N95 respirators which become extremely uncomfortable after long wear durations.

4C Air’s BreSafe™ nano-filtration layer provides similar or better filtration than N95 respirators with much less material. This allows more breathability and a thinner mask design to be used which allows for a more comfortable wearing experience.

The 4C lecture titled, “The Science of Small: How Nanotechnology is Revolutionizing Respiratory Protection” caught the attention of Jim Dombrowski of Dental Advisor, who had this to say of 4C Air:

We are always searching for innovations backed by solid scientific research, and when we spoke to 4C, it was clear they had something unique and different for the industry.  We look forward to seeing where this technology goes!”

Dental Advisor is currently planning to test 4C Air masks thoroughly at their research facility and publish their finding in the near future. To learn more about Dental Advisor and their work visit their website at
