The Organization for Safety Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) is a growing community of individual clinicians, group practices, educators, researchers, consultants, trainers, compliance directors, policymakers, and industry representatives who advocate for the safe and infection-free delivery of oral healthcare.
OSAP focuses on strategies to improve compliance with safe practices and on building a strong network of recognized infection control experts. OSAP offers an extensive online collection of resources, publications, FAQs, checklists, and toolkits that help dental professionals deliver the safest dental visit possible for their patients.
4C Air has partnered with OSAP to become an official sponsor and presented a lecture at the 2021 annual conference titled, “The Science of “Small” How Nanotechnology is Revolutionizing Respiratory Protection for Dental Professionals”.
The subject? Our next-generation face masks.
Dental professionals are required to wear masks daily and 4C Air sought to overcome the burdens associated with wearing a mask over long periods of time.
Here are the presentation slides:

The most commonly used masks by dental professionals are ASTM level 1 & 3 masks however, there is a big discrepancy between these two levels which are similar in appearance.
Level 1 masks are required to filter 95% of particles and level 3 require 98%. The main limitation with these masks is the fit. While these masks do well to prevent droplets and splatter during procedures, they fail to adequately protect against airborne viral transmission.
4C Air masks tackle these problems through their innovative nanomaterial. It provides filtration levels of 99% and is extremely breathable and lightweight due to their patented new technology developed at Stanford University.
They also provide a much better seal around the face which protects the wearer from airborne pathogens while allowing more airflow resulting in a more comfortable long-term experience.
The goal of 4C Air’s partnership with OSAP is to promote better safety for dental professionals and their patients through next-generation PPE solutions. Read more about 4C Air masks below.
